He made his home in Corpus Christi, Dickinson, Texas City, Boerne, Mason, and San Antonio in various stages of his career as a business owner and land developer. As a 5th generation Texan, he remained in contact with the Marschall von Biebersteins in Germany and attended many family reunions there with his wife Modena and other family memebers. Bill was also a descendant of the Marschall von Biebersteins, who immigrated to Texas with Meusebach in the 1840's. Meusebach, founder of Fredericksburg, who on May 9, 1847, settled peacefully with the Comanche Indians and signed the Meusebach-Comanche Treaty which is known as one of the most important pioneer works of German history in Texas. Bill was a lover of history and in particular, Texas history and German immigration. He helped organize and create the Fredericksburg Founders Day which still stands as an important event for the Fredericksburg community and Historical Society. He was a past board member of the Gillespie County Historical Society and on the Board of the Windcrest Community in Fredericksburg. He was also a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas and an honorary member of the Scottish Rite Masons. He attended High School in Dallas, attended Texas A&M University and was a member of the A&M Century Club. Bill was born in Llano, Texas, January 29,1917. Marschall, Sr., mother, Jennie Dawn Fowler Marschall, daughter Patsy Marschall, and brother John O. Bill is survived by his wife, Modena Gentry Marschall of Fredericksburg daughter, Dinah Fisher & husband Steven of Santa Barbara, CA granddaughter, Jeni Klein of San Antonio grandsons, Brian & Marschall Fisher of Santa Barbara, CA great-grandson, Jasper Klein of San Antonio. "Bill" Marschall passed away Friday, May 2nd, at the age of 91.
